Hebrew will become one of the most important factors in strengthening the link between Israel and Jewish communities the world over, Aubrey S. Eban, Israel’s ambassador to the United States and chief Israel delegate to the United Nations, declared here today, addressing the World Hebrew Congress which is being attended by delegates from many countries, including 90 delegates from the United States.

The Israel Ambassador revealed that the recently-concluded conference of Israel diplomats stationed in more than a dozen countries–which was held here and in Tel Aviv for more than a week–decided to foster the study of Hebrew in the various countries in which Israel maintains diplomatic officials. It was also learned here today that the diplomats’ conference pointed up the need for appointing “cultural attaches” to existing Israel legations.
