More than 2,000 Jewish immigrants arrived in Israel today aboard three vessels. A total of 1,657 Jews landed here this morning from Rumania, making today’s transport the largest single contingent to reach here from Rumania since the Bucharest regime decided to lift the emigration bars for Israel-bound Jews. A group of 165 Turkish Jews landed here this morning while 250 Jews arrived in this city from an Italian port.

Former Premier of Eire, Eamon de Valera, who arrived in Israel a few days ago on a Holy Year visit and was honored at a dinner tendered by Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog–who once served as Chief Rabbi of Eire–today left for the Old City of Jerusalem to visit Holy Places in Arab jurisdiction.
