The “Neturei Karta,” Israel’s religious zealots, who have caused Israel authorities trouble in Jerusalem over Sabbath observance, are threatening action also in Haifa, it was reported today.
The head of the Biological Institute here has received anonymous letters warning him to remove a collection of “unclean animals” from the Institute building on Mount Carmel. The letters threatened destruction of the animals and said police help would be of no avail. The animals are being used by the Institute for experimental purposes.
