The Haifa airfield, which has been closed since January 1, 1950, reopened here today for domestic and international traffic. The airport has already granted facilities to Cyprus Airways to operate one weekly run between Nicosia, Cyprus capital, and Haifa. A second weekly flight will be added to the schedule later.

A new eight-mile road cutting the time of the motor trip between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv by 20 minutes was officially opened in Jerusalem by Labor Minister Golda Myerson. The road runs from the Latrun junction on the old Jerusalem highway to a mile or so before Ramleh.
