A tract of land located near the Lydda Airfield was dedicated yesterday as Kfar Truman, in honor of the United States President. The land, belonging to the Jewish National Fund, will be settled initially by 80 immigrant families from Eastern Europe.
Participating in the dedication ceremonies, in addition to officials of the government, were severel members of the American Jewish delegation now in Israel to consult with Israel Government and Jewish Agency leaders on floating a $1,500,000,000 loan for the Jewish state. These included Benjamin G. Browdy, president of the Zionist Organization of America, and Dr. Harris J. Levine, president of the J.N.F. of America. Speakers at the dedication ceremonies lauded President Truman for his aid to Israel and to the Jewish people.
