The several thousand Jews who remain in Bulgaria are gradually losing their connections with Judaism and are being completely absorbed into the country’s life, the Jewish Chronicle reported here today.

The report stated that books with “a Jewish national tendency” have been removed from the Jewish community’s library and that the Jewish center in Sofia was recently taken over by the authorities and has been put to use as a Communist office.
