El Al, Israel Airline, Flies Home Group of U.S. Catholic Pilgrims Stranded in Rome

El Al, Israel National Airlines, has come to the aid of Catholic Holy Year pilgrims stranded in Europe because their chartered aircraft has been diverted to the Korean Airlift, it was disclosed today.

By arranging a special flight out of Lydda, El Al was able to fly home 27 of the 8? American Catholic pilgrims stranded in Rome. The remaining Americans will be carried home on subsequent flights shortly. Recently El Al flew home to the United States large numbers of American students and educatiors stranded in London, Paris and Luxembourg.
