Reports reaching here indicate that the Eastern European bloc has decided to permit unrestricted Jewish emigration from the Soviet setellite nations to Israel. The reports explain this reversal in policy as an attempt to keep Israel from accepting Marshall Plan aid and from entering into a closer rapprochement with the United States and Britian.

Meanwhile 1,080 immigrants arrived at Haifa today from Poland and 1,663 from Rumania.
