Israel and Bulgaria Sign New Barter Agreement; $150,000 Worth of Goods Involved

A new barter agreement involving the exchange of an estimated $150,000 worth of goods has been signed by Israel and Bulgaria, it was announced here. Israel will supply medicaments, artificial teeth, dental drills and razor blades in exchange for carbide products, felt, china wars and beans.

The number of agricultural settlements in Israel at the end of the Jewish year, last month, was 677, it was officially reported here. Of the total, 575 were Jewish settlements and 102 were Arab.

Six new settlements were founded in Israel during August. Five of them were established by new immigrants and one by pioneer youth. One was set up in the Judean hills and the remainder in southern Israel.
