Israel President Weizmann has accepted the honorary presidency of the World Jubilee Committee of the Jewish National Fund which has just been organized to sponsor celebrations throughout the world of the J.N.F.’s 50th anniversary. The J.N.F. also announced that Premier David Ben Gurion has consented to act as honorary chairman of the same committee.
Last week, the Cabinet decided to transfer an additional 1,000,000 dunams (250,000 acres) of land to the land-purchasing agency of the Zionist movement. The J.N.F. will soon start a program of draining the Huleh marshes.
