John Hersey, author of “The Wall,” and Gian-Carlo Menetti, composer, author and director of “The Consul,” were today awarded citations by the 11th biennial convention of the Women’s American ORT for focusing world attention on the plight of the Jewish people in Europe. Mrs. Ludwig Kaphan was reelected president of the organization at the closing session of the convention.
