World Jewish Congress Mourns Passing of King Gustav; Cites His Aid to Hungarian Jews

The World Jewish Congress, in a message of condolence to the family of King Gustav of Sweden, who died yesterday at the age of 92, emphasized the late monarch’s “humanitarian sentiments” and his successful intervention in behalf of tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews who faced extermination at the hands of the Fasciet regime headed by Admiral Horthy.
