Jewish survivors in Europe, as well as Jews now in Israel, are living “in the shadow of fear” that the aid provided by the United Jewish Appeal may soon be curtailed or out off entirely, Rabbi Jonah B. Wise reported upon his return to the United States.

Rabbi Wise, a national chairman of the U.J.A. and a vice-chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee, left the U.S. on October 3 to survey J.D.C. installations in Europe and Israel, and to confer with top Israel Government officials.
