The headquarters of the Independent Order of Brith Sholom announced today that the fraternal body has registered its “unqualified” opposition to any interference by American Jewry in the political affairs of the state of Israel.

The announcement was made by Louis I. Gilgor, Grand Secretary of the Order. “Brith Sholom would cooperate fully in any plan of American Jewry to alleviate and solve the economic situation in Israel,” he said, “but would oppose and definitely and unqualifiedly refuse to join any program designed to affect the politics of any foreign government.”
