The Israel treasury announced today that effective immediately new immigrants arriving in Israel will receive 50 percent in additional Israel currency over the official exchange rates, up to a maximum of $200 or the equivalent in other currencies, including “soft currencies.” The treasury announcement stressed that the ruling applies only to new immigrants.

Moshav Norway, a village whose buildings have been supplied by popular subscription in Norway, was dedicated today to the memory of 24 Jewish children from Tunis who died in an aircrash near Oslo last year.

During the ceremonies a Norwegian film company took pictures for a documentary film to be shown in Scandinavia. The “hero” of the documentary is Isaac Allal, only survivor of the Oslo crash who, after spending a number of months in Norway where he received medical care, is now in the new village and will be one of its permanent residents.
