Jewish activities in this country are organized completely around the recently re-formed United Jewish Community many of whose local bodies are still in the process of being established. Zionist activities, however, are still in disfavor and the Jewish community newspaper publishes gloomy accounts of life in Israel.
Meanwhile, there has been no official word on when a party of 400 Hungarian Jews scheduled to leave for Israel last month will depart. The group, whose travel arrangements were cancelled without explanation, may leave this month.
