Dr. Travers Herford, 90, world authority on Judaien at the time of the rise of Christianity, died in his home near Chester on Friday. He was the author of numerous works on the Talmud and on the Pharises movement. In 1941 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Jewish Institute of Religion in New York.
