Jewish Physician in Israel Charged with Killing Five Inmates of Nazi Camp

Dr. Yehoshua Steinberg, a physician living in Hedera, faced charges in magistrates’s court here today of causing the death of five persons in a Nazi concentration camp where he served as a physician. He was also charged with torturing a number of other camp inmates.

Moshe Putschitz, another defendant, was charged with “informing” on Jews while serving as deputy chief of the Jewish police in the Ostrovice ghetto in 1942-43.
