Five Christian youths were arrested here following the desecration of a synagogue. The interior of the synagogue was demolished by the hooligans and five Torahs were desecrated.
The defendants have been released on bail pending a trial. There are about 100 Jewish families in Davenport and their relations with the non-Jewish population have always been very cordial.
