The appointment of Leon Lowenstein as general chairman of the Joint Defense Appeal, the fund-raising arm of the American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation of B’nai B’rith, was announced here this week-end. The $6,000,000 nationwide campaign will get under way February 1.
