United Jewish Appeal Will Launch Its 1951 Drive at Miami Beach National Conference

The 1951 campaign of the United Jewish Appeal will be launched at a National Inaugural Conference in Miami Beach February 16-18, it was announced here today by the national chairman of the U.J.A., William Rosenwald, Rudolf G. Sonneborn and Jonah B. Wise.

The three-day National Conference will hear from outstanding leaders in American and Israel affairs, among them Abba S. Eban, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States; James G. McDonald, former American Ambassador to the Jewish States Edward M.M. Warburg, general chairman of the United Jewish Appeal; Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, U.J.A. executive vice-chairman, and others.

The national Women’s Division of the United Jewish Appeal, at its two-day conference held at the Hotel Plaza here, today voted to advance the launching of its nationwide effort to mobilize the Jewish women of this country behind the U.J.A. campaign. The women’s drive will start two weeks ahead of the National Inaugural Conference in Miami Beach. It will be conducted in 250 communities.
