The Amun-Israeli Housing Corporation, an American non-profit organization, contracted here yesterday to spend an initial $5,000,000 immediately in its program for the financing in this country of $20,000,000 in low-cost housing in Israel. The contract was signed with the Israeli non-profit corporation, Hevra Leshikun Ziburi of Tel Aviv, which is building 40,000 low-cost homes in Israel with financial assistance from the United States.
Signing for the American group were Charles H. Silver, vice-president of the American Woolen Company and president of Amun-Israeli Corporation, and Charles S. Zimmerman, vice-president of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and chairman of Amun’s executive committee. Joseph Gurion and David Horowitz signed for the Israeli group.
