Samuel Telsey Re-elected President of Hias for Fifth Consecutive Term

Samuel A. Telsey was today re-elected president of HIAS, the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society, for a fifth consecutive term.

In his speech of acceptance before the HIAS board of directors, Mr. Telsey pointed to the fact that during 1950, the organization spent $379,954 for temporary shelter and feeding of new arrivals in the United States, adding that “it was the largest expenditure for this service in the Society’s 67-year-history.
