A three-day conference to discuss and act upon problems of racial and religious discrimination on college campuses opened here today at Earlham College. It is being attended by more than 300 students from 44 states.
The conference–the first in which students represent their schools in an official capacity–is sponsored by the American Council on Education, in co-operation with the Anti-Defamation League of the B’nai B’rith, the U.S. National Students Association and other organizations. Some of the problem areas the students expect to act on are admissions practices, faculty employment and graduate placements.
