Dr. G.J. Van Heuven Goedhart, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, left yesterday for a five-day visit to West Germany.
During his visit, the U.N. High Commissioner will confer with the three Allied High Commissioners for West Germany, and with Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, Minister for Refugee Dr. Lubaschek and other high government officials. He will discuss with them the opening of an office for refugees in Germany and Germany’s accession to the U.N. convention on the status of refugees, which will be discussed at a conference this summer to which West Germany has already been invited.
