Thousands of eligible refugees will probably be prevented from entering the United States before the Dec. 31 deadline imposed by the Displaced Persons Act, it was reported by Arthur Greenleigh, executive director of the Unified Service for New Americans, upon his return to the United States yesterday from Germany, Austria and Italy where he surveyed the refugee problem.
He attributed this probability to the lack of co-ordination between American Government agencies abroad engaged in investigating the applicants for visas “Ours is the most investigated immigration program of any country in the world,” he declared in a press interview.
