Rev. James W. Fifield, Jr., controversial local minister, today apologized for making a statement on the radio that Benjamin Franklin once denounced the Jews in 1787. “I am particularly glad to mate an apology in this instance,” he said. The local Anti-Defamation league vas active in obtaining the apology.

The Anti-Defamation League was urged today to look into an anti-Semitic act at a local housing tract. Residents discovered the words “New Jew Homes” written in red paint over the words “New GI Homes.” Nearly 50 percent of the tract residents are Jewish.
