Acting on a complaint from the DAIA, central representative body of Argentine Jewry, the educational authorities here ordered the revision of the contents of a textbook containing anti-Semitic material.
Attention to the fact that this textbook poisons the minds of the school children with ant-Jewish feelings was drawn by the DAIA president, Dr. Ricardo Dubrovsky, in a letter addressed to Dr. Julio Cesar Avanza, Minister of Education of the province of Buenos Aires. Replying to this letter, the Minister informed the DAIA today that “necessary measures have been taken to rectify the situation.”
The Minister emphasized that he understands the reasons that prompted the DAIA to complain against the textbook. The complaint, he said, is in line with the principle of defending the traditions and customs of Argentina. “And it is the aim of my Ministry to have these traditions respected.” he added.
