Germans Seek to Settle Restitution Claims by 1960

At a meeting here of restitution experts of the various German provincial governments, it was agreed to make an effort to settle all outstanding claims by 1960. The delegates to the meeting decided to ask the Federal Government for a large grant to help pay the claims.

In this city, 37,000,000 Deutschemarks have been earmarked for restitution payments this year as compared with local restitution claims totalling approximately one billion Deutschemarks.
