President Truman this week-end honored the late Jewish labor leader Samuel Gompers at ceremonies marking the dedication of “Gompers Square” in this city. The President told his audience of labor leaders, government officials and others that the late organizer and first president of the American Federation of Labor had always directed the labor organization toward “justice for the under-man.”
