A quota of $300,000 for 1951-52 was adopted by the United Organizations for the Israel Histadrut Campaign at a conference here today. More than 1,500 delegates representing some 500 benevolent and fraternal organizations in this city gathered to discuss and plan their activities in behalf of the Israel federation of labor.
At a dinner of the Business and Professional Council of the Israel Histadrut Campaign here last night five governor were honored by the Histadrut drive–Governors Paul A. Dever of Mass. Alfred E. Driscoll of New Jersey; John Lodge of Connecticut; Elbert N. Carvel of Delaware: and Gov. Thomas E. Dewey, who is ill and was represented by Attorney General Nathaniel L. Goldstein. The Governors called for aid to Israel as a strong democratic center in the Middle East.
