Sephardic Jews from 24 Countries to Hold World Congress

More than 100 communities in 24 countries will be represented at the first Sephardic World Congress which will convene here November 4. The Congress will consider problems affecting the development and maintenance of the spiritual and religious life of Sephardic communities throughout the world.

The conference will pay special heed to the problems of the nearly 500,000 Sephardic Jews in Israel. Prof. Rene Cassin, president of the Alliance Israelite Universelle, will preside at the opening session.
