Communal leaders here welcomed the approval given to a request that Jewish leaders from Turkey be permitted to participate in a World Sephardic Congress meeting in Paris, despite the fact that the authorization arrived too late for the actual sending of a delegation to the meeting.

The Chief Rabbinate pointed out that the fact that the Turkish authorities approved its request for sending delegates to the world-wide Jewish conference may indicate that the Jewish community here will be allowed to attend other world Jewish conferences in the future.
