38 Public Schools in New York Are Offering Courses in Hebrew

A total of 38 public schools in New York City are offering courses in Hebrew this semester, it was announced here today by Judah Lapson, director of the Hebrew Culture Council of the Jewish Education Committee.

Mr. Lapson reported that 26 senior high schools, two evening high schools and 10 junior high schools are teaching Hebrew courses. He also revealed that for the first time a New Haven, Connecticut, high school is offering a Hebrew course this year.
