The Jewish Agency executive has already begun conferences with the Israel Government on the granting of a special legal status to the Agency by the government, it was learned here today.
Progress already made in consultations between Agency members and representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Attorney General was reported at a meeting today of the Agency executive. In connection with this matter, it was announced that a plenary session of the Zionist Actions Committee, policy-making body of the Zionist movement between Congresses, has been scheduled for March 14.
Another report was made by Eliahu Dobkin, administrative department head, on the reorganization of several Agency offices, including the Jerusalem and Paris headquarters. Dr. Nahum Goldmann, co-chairman of the executive, left today for the United States. Berl Locker, the other co-chairman, will follow him to the U.S. on Thursday. Zalman Shazar will head the Jerusalem office in Mr. Locker’s absence.
