Israel’s Military Strength Cited; Studied by Army Leaders

High tribute to Israel’s military strength was paid here today by Congressman Emanuel Celler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, at a dinner tendered in his honor by Bnai Zion, fraternal Zionist organization, at the Commodore Hotel, More than 1,500 guests attended the affair.

“Even the military leaders throughout the world are studying the David-Goliath techniques in Israel used to defeat the Arab countries, ” Rep. Celler said. He emphasized that the Jewish State is the only nation in the Middle East that democratic nations can depend upon in this period of international tension.

Calling attention to Israel’s economic potential, he pointed out that her ports and airfields are at a point where three continents meet. “Israel is both a center of world commerce and in ideal warehouse and assembly plant for Europe, Asia and Africa. “he said. He drew a sharp contrast between Israel and the surrounding Arab countries and stated that Israel’s “stability contrasts vividly with the instability of the Arab nations.”
