German Jews will refuse to serve in any future German Army, Heinz Galinsky, chairman of the Berlin Jewish community, declared there today. “I cannot visualize a German Jew serving under officers who may have taken part in anti-Semitic atrocities a few years ago,” he said.

(The New York Times reported from Bonn today that Jewish communal leaders in West Germany have received reports, which they have no way of confirming, that anti-Semitic incidents have occurred in the Soviet zone of Germany. The Times dispatch added that Jews in West Germany have been unable to obtain any information about Jewish communities in the Soviet zone.)
