United States Ambassador Monnet B. Davis has voiced a warning here that the “common danger of totalitarianism and aggression is of much greater consequence than the cause of regional dissension ” in the Middle East.

Addressing a luncheon of the Tel Aviv Commercial and Industrial Club, he said that the United States is “well aware of the serious character of the problems of the Middle East.” He expressed the hope that “the people of this region, realizing that they will gain more by constructive cooperation and will lose everything by failure to cooperate, will share the responsibilities of common defense.” He also described the American aid program for Israel.
