The “Jewish World,” established as a Yiddish daily newspaper here in 1907 and converted several years ago into a weekly publication, published its farewell edition this week. It was the only Yiddish publication in Cleveland.

Paying tribute to the role played by the newspaper in Cleveland’s Jewish life, the Jewish Review and Observer, local English-Jewish weekly publication, emphasizes in an editorial that “in the decades of its existence, the Jewish World had served the Jewish community of Cleveland ably and well.”
