The Jewish newspaper Die Stimme has charged the Austrian Government with delaying implementation of the restitution law and legislation providing indemnification payments for imprisonment by the Nazis.

The newspaper says that while the Jews of Austria are still fighting to put into effect laws which were passed for their relief, “large sums have been paid in Germany” and “reparations are taking shape there.” It adds that “it looks as though the intention (of the government) is to consider least those who suffered most.”
