The Social Democratic Party of West Germany today issued a statement expressing approval of the German-Israeli and German-Jewish negotiations on reparations claims.
The statement, which asked the German Government to do its best to indemnify the Jews and to ease the way for conciliation between the Germans and the Jews, also said that the Social Democratic Party was aware that the government could not now make full reparation of the material damages inflicted on the Jews. It also urged the government to fight anti-Semitism with all the weapons at its command.
