The launching of a large-scale program of chalutziuth in the United States, with an emphasis on technical and professional immigration, was urged here today by Abraham A, Redelheim, chairman of the National Administrative Council of the Zionist Organization of America, as part of a policy which he intends to carry out if elected president of the Z. O. A.
Mr. Redelheim outlined his policy after announcing consent to having his name presented for the Z. O. A. presidency at the forthcoming national convention of the Zionist Organization of America. He pledged unlimited support to Israel and strict adherence to the “identification” agreement reached in Jerusalem and approved at the final meeting of the World Confederation of General Zionists.
Other points in Mr. Redelheim’s statement of policy include: 1. Insistence on the right of the Z. O. A. to launch a campaign in the United States for its work both in Israel and on the American scene, on the same terms as other Zionist groups in this country; 2. Encouragement of private initiative and promotion of private investments in Israel; 3. Development of projects in Israel as an essential part of the Z. O. A. ‘s work on the Israeli scene; 4. Recruitment of young adults into the Zionist Organization of America.
