An Israel Legation spokesman today described as “the act of provocateurs, probably Nazis, “the dispatch of letters to news agency offices in Paris asserting that last week’s attempt to assassinate Chancellor Konrad Adenauer of West Germany was the week of a so-called “Jewish Partisans Association.”
The letters, postmarked from Zurich, written on plain paper with illegible signatures, described the attempt, made by mailing a bomb, as the “first action” and promised further attempts. A German police official was killed by the bomb.
Jewish organizations have no knowledge of any organization purporting to call itself the “Jewish Partisans Association.”
