Samuel D. Leidesdorf, noted American-Jewish leader, and John Foster Dulles, former American Ambassador-at-Large, last night received the National Gold Award of the National Conference of Christians and Jews for “devotion to the cause of promoting understanding and good will among Protestants, Catholics and Jews.”
Presentation of the award to Mr. Dulles was made by Roger W. Straus, N.C.C.J. national co-chairman. Mr. Leidesdorf received his award from Henry Townley Heald, chancellor of the New York University. Whitelaw Reid, editor of the New York Herald Tribune, and chairman of the event, presided at the dinner at which the awards were presented.
