A gold medal for “distinguished service to the New York public schools” was presented last night to James Marshall who last week completed 17 years as a member of the New York Board of Education. The presentation was made by Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt at a dinner of the Public Education Association held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
