A statement outlining his attitude toward the various issues facing the forthcoming national convention of the Zionist Organization of America was made at a press conference here today by Abraham A. Redelheim, one of the candidates for Z.O.A. presidency.
Mr. Redelheim pledged unlimited support to the State of Israel as well as to the United Jewish Appeal and to the Israeli Bond Drive. He advocated the launching of a program for Chalutziuth on a large scale in this country with emphasis on technical and professional Chalutziuth. He insisted on the right of the Z.O.A. to launch a campaign in the United States for its work both in Israel and on the American scene, on the same terms as Hadassah and the Labor Zionists. He also emphasized that he will encourage the work of stimulating private investments in Israel.
Continued support was also pledged by Mr. Redelheim to Z.O.A. work in the promotion of the Hebrew language and in the establishment of youth villages and trade schools in Israel. He stressed the need for unity within the range of the Zionist Organization of America and declared that he will adhere strictly to the “identification” agreement reached in Jerusalem and approved at the final meeting of the World Confederation of General Zionists.
