For the third successive day Arabs today attacked Jews in the streets of Tunis. Ten persons were reported wounded in today’s clashes. A delegation of Jewish leaders appealed to the French authorities in Tunis for protection.

The Arab raids on the Jews were explained here as attempts by anti-French nationalist Moslems to force Jewish store owners to join in a protest strike against the French administration. Today’s Arab-Jewish clashes in Tunis added new tension in Tunisia, where Moslem nationalists have set fire to wheat fields ready for harvest in an effort to disrupt the economic life of the French Protectorate.
