Deputy H. Hedler, leader of the neo-Nazi Socialist Reich Party, has lost Parliamentary immunity following his conviction and sentencing for slandering the German resistance movement and insulting the Jews.
Earlier, Hedler expressed regret for some of the statements he made and insisted that it had never been his intention to insult or slander German Jewry. He said that his remarks had been “misinterpreted” and that all he had been trying to do was to explain “historical facts.” He was sentenced to nine months imprisonment.
