South African Orthodox Jews Hold First National Conference

Israel Chief Rabbi Dr. Isaac Halevi Herzog today opened the first national conference here of the Orthodox Jewish organizations of South Africa. Addressing a press conference earlier, Dr. Herog said: “I am not a politician but am sure that life for Israel means universal peace and brotherhood for the world.” The Israel Chief Rabbi will call on Prime Minister Daniel Malan this week.

Emanuel Neumann, member of the World Zionist Executive, predicted at a large gathering here of an Israel Appeal meeting that Israel would undergo a great transformation within the next five years. Justice Greenburg, who presided over the meeting, rebuked those large donors who spoke of recession.
