Times Square, the world’s busiest intersection, was re-named Hadassah Square yesterday for a period of seven days to mark the observance of Hadassah Week in New York. A temporary marker was put up by Robert F. Wagner, Jr., Manhattan Borough President.
The Metropolitan Council of Hadassah yesterday cited the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund for “constructive achievements in the world field of child welfare.” Mrs. Samuel J. Rosensohn, national president of Hadassah, presented the citation at the U. N. headquarters. About 250 Hadassah members attended the ceremony, which took place in the Economic and Social Council chamber.
